If any policy of health insurance provides coverage for treatment of an illness which is within the authorized scope of practice of a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, the insured is entitled to reimbursement for treatment by a clinical alcohol and drug counselor who is licensed pursuant to chapter 641C of NRS unless the clinical alcohol and drug counselor must be directly reimbursed pursuant to:

- insured: as used in this chapter , shall not be construed as preventing a person other than the insured with a proper insurable interest from making application for and owning a policy covering the insured or from being entitled under such a policy to any indemnities, benefits and rights provided therein. See Nevada Revised Statutes 689A.310
1. An assignment of benefits described in NRS 687B.409; or
2. Any other applicable assignment of benefits.
