- person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
A person authorized to conduct gaming or pari-mutuel operations in this state may not race greyhounds or any member of the Canis familiaris subspecies in connection with any wager for money or any other thing of value in this state. A person who violates this section commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. A person who commits a second or subsequent violation commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 948.01, any person convicted under this section may not have adjudication of guilt suspended, deferred, or withheld.
