- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Except as made applicable by specific reference in any other section of this chapter, part I of chapter 607, the Florida Business Corporation Act, does not apply to any corporations not for profit.
