Terms Used In Florida Statutes 655.035
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
Pursuant to s. 655.032, the office may conduct an investigation that it deems necessary to determine whether a financial institution, a subsidiary, a service corporation, an affiliate, or other person is engaging in or has engaged in conduct that is a violation of any provision of the Military Lending Act, 10 U.S.C. § 987, or the regulations adopted under that act in 32 C.F.R. part 232. If the office has reason to believe that a person has violated any such provision or regulation, the office may initiate a proceeding against such person in accordance with s. 655.033, s. 655.034, s. 655.037, or s. 655.041.
