Terms Used In Florida Statutes 296.46
- Program: means a licensed facility operated by the department under part III of chapter 429. See Florida Statutes 296.44
- veteran: means a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under honorable conditions only or who later received an upgraded discharge under honorable conditions, notwithstanding any action by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs on individuals discharged or released with other than honorable discharges. See Florida Statutes 1.01
It is the policy of the state to admit residents into the program without regard to race, age, sex, creed, religion, national origin, or any other reason that would thereby create a practice of discrimination. However, consideration of an applicant’s veteran status shall not constitute discrimination.
