Terms Used In Florida Statutes 401.271

  • Department: means the Department of Health. See Florida Statutes 401.23
  • Emergency medical technician: means a person who is certified by the department to perform basic life support pursuant to this part. See Florida Statutes 401.23
  • Paramedic: means a person who is certified by the department to perform basic and advanced life support pursuant to this part. See Florida Statutes 401.23
Any member of the Armed Forces of the United States on active duty who, at the time he or she became a member, was in good standing with the department and was entitled to practice as an emergency medical technician or paramedic in the state remains in good standing without registering, paying dues or fees, or performing any other act, as long as he or she is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States on active duty and for a period of 6 months after his or her discharge from active duty as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States.
