Terms Used In Florida Statutes 713.815

  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Material: means any machinery, equipment, appliances, buildings, structures, tools, bits, or supplies used in connection with any construction, drilling, or operating upon any land or leasehold for oil or gas purposes or for any oil or gas pipeline. See Florida Statutes 713.801
The liens provided for in this part arise on the date of furnishing of the first item of material or service or the date of performance of the first labor. Upon compliance with the provisions of s. 713.821, such lien shall be preferred to all other titles, charges, liens, or encumbrances which may, subsequent to the date the lien herein provided for arises, attach to or upon any of the property upon which a lien is given by this part.
