Virginia Code 18.2-290: Use of machine gun for aggressive purpose.

Unlawful possession or use of a machine gun for an offensive or aggressive purpose is hereby declared to be a Class 4 felony.

Under the Virginia Code, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Class	Prison	Fine
Class 4 felony	2 to 10 years	up to $100,000
