- Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
- Aggregating period: means :
(a) For a political committee, except a political committee which supports only one candidate, the period from January first of the calendar year through December thirty-first of the same calendar year. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 18:1483

- Pipeline facility: means and shall include, without limitation, new and existing pipe, right of way, and any equipment, facility, or building used or intended for use in the transportation of hazardous liquids; but, rights of way as used in this Chapter does not authorize the assistant secretary to prescribe the location or the routing of any pipeline facility. - Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
- Transportation of hazardous liquids: means the movement of hazardous liquids by pipeline, or their storage incidental to such movement, in or affecting intrastate commerce; however, it shall not include any such movement through gathering lines in rural locations, onshore production, refining, or manufacturing facilities, or storage or in-plant piping systems associated with any of such facilities. - Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
