Any person violating any of the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 32:1301 through 32:1308 or of any rules and regulations established by the director as herein provided shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment of not more than six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
