- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
After a boundary line has been run and marked as prescribed in La. Rev. Stat. 50:221, due return of the survey shall be made to the presiding officer of the governing authority of each parish and he shall have it filed and preserved in the office of the recorder.
