The provisions of this Chapter establish the office of international commerce within the Department of Economic Development to serve as the authority on behalf of the state to advance the state’s international commerce economic sector. The office of international commerce shall achieve this objective by utilizing the state’s public and private resources to strategically develop and enhance Louisiana’s participation and competitiveness in international commerce, by attracting foreign and domestic investment and trade related corporate business into the state, and by developing manufacturing, corporate, and service business activity based upon Louisiana’s trade economy.
