- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
Whenever any member of the legislature is imprisoned after conviction of a crime, the payment of the compensation and allowances under the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 24:31.1, La. Rev. Stat. 24:31.4, La. Rev. Stat. 24:31.5, and La. Rev. Stat. 24:31.6 shall be suspended.
