- Patient: means any person detained and taken care of as a person who has a mental illness or person who is suffering from a substance-related or addictive disorder. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 28:2
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
A. No person or public carrier shall knowingly import a nonresident psychiatric patient into this state for the purpose of having him committed.
B. Any person who violates the provisions of this Section shall be fined one hundred dollars or imprisoned for sixty days, or both, and the patient shall be removed from the state at the expense of the offending person or public carrier.
