Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 39:1968

  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.

           Any person aggrieved by any act or inaction of the division may seek judicial relief by a writ of mandamus or by injunction, to require compliance with the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 39:1953(B) and La. Rev. Stat. 39:1955.
