Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1472.18
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Explosives: means any chemical compound, mixture, or device, the primary or common purpose of which is to function by explosion. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1472.2
- Person: means any individual, corporation, company, association, firm, partnership, society, or joint stock company. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1472.2
A. No person shall store, handle, dispose, transport, transfer, load, unload, or use explosives or blasting agents, as defined by La. Rev. Stat. 40:1472.2, in a careless or imprudent manner without regard for the hazards or circumstances in which the explosives or blasting agents are being stored, handled, disposed, transported, transferred, loaded, unloaded, or used.
B. Whoever is convicted of violating this Section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and fined not less than five hundred dollars and not more than two thousand dollars or imprisoned for not more than ninety days.
C. Any person in possession of an explosive license issued under La. Rev. Stat. 40:1472.3 upon conviction shall have such license revoked for one year from date of conviction.
