Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:1865
- Employee: means a person including an elected official, actively employed by a participating employer on a permanent, regularly scheduled basis of at least an average of thirty-five hours per week. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:1732
Notwithstanding the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 11:1786, 1806, and 1864, or any other law to the contrary, the city of Monroe, at its discretion, is authorized to pay to the system, from its own funds, the employee contributions referenced in La. Rev. Stat. 11:1786, 1806, and 1864 and to take appropriate legal and administrative action to otherwise be in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
