Terms Used In Louisiana Children's Code 337
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
Appeals authorized by Titles VI, VII, VIII, X, XI, and XII and Chapter 7 of Title XV shall be accorded preference in the court of appeal and shall be determined at the earliest practicable time.
