The director shall, before assuming the duties of office, take and subscribe to the constitutional oath of office, file the oath in the office of the Secretary of State, and be bonded or insured as required by section 11-201.

- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- Oath: shall include affirmation in all cases in which an affirmation may be substituted for an oath. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
- Office: means any place at which a financial institution transacts its business or conducts operations related to its business. See Nebraska Statutes 8-1,124
