Release means to spill, leak, pump, pour, emit, empty, discharge, inject, escape, leach, dump, or dispose any hazardous chemical, extremely hazardous substance, or toxic chemical into the environment and includes the abandonment or discarding of barrels, containers, and other closed receptacles containing any such chemical or substance.

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 81-15,206

  • Environment: includes water, air, and land and the interrelationship which exists among and between water, air, and land and all living things. See Nebraska Statutes 81-15,197
  • Extremely hazardous substance: means a substance which meets the threshold requirements identified on the List of Extremely Hazardous Substances under Nebraska Statutes 81-15,198
  • Release: means to spill, leak, pump, pour, emit, empty, discharge, inject, escape, leach, dump, or dispose any hazardous chemical, extremely hazardous substance, or toxic chemical into the environment and includes the abandonment or discarding of barrels, containers, and other closed receptacles containing any such chemical or substance.   • Toxic chemical: means a substance on the list in Committee Print Number 99-169, as amended, of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, titled "Toxic Chemicals Subject to Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act of 1986" including any revised version as may be made pursuant to section 313 of Title III.
