The final ruling of the engineer on such hearing may be appealed by either the applicant or a protestant. Such appeal shall be governed by the provisions of section 72-7-1 through Section 72-7-3 N.M. Stat. Ann..

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
