Employment (for Employers)
All workers are entitled to work in environments where risks to their health and safety are properly controlled. Under health and safety law, the primary responsibility for this is with employers. Employers have a duty to consult with their employees on health and safety matters. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission enforces federal laws that prohibit employment discrimination. There are laws that require employers to keep certain records and to post notices describing federal laws against discrimination. Harrassment is a type of employment discrimination and to be unlawful, the conduct would be such that the work environment is intimidating, hostile or offensive to reasonable people.
