Missouri Constitution Article IV Sec. 36(a) – Economic development, department of — duties of department — director, how appointed
The department of economic development shall be in charge of a director appointed by the governor, by and with the advice and consent of the senate. The department shall administer all programs provided by law relating to the promotion of the economy of the state, the economic development of the state, trade and business, and other activities and programs impacting on the economy of the state.
