Simplified Probate for Small Estates in Oregon
In general, when someone dies, the estate must go through probate which can be a complicated and lengthy process. But many states provide less complicated options for smaller estates.
Oregon law provides for simplified probate when the value of the estate less does not exceed $200,000 including not more than $50,000 is personal and not more than $150,000 is real property. The decedent’s personal representative may file an affidavit with the court.
