Terms Used In 40 CFR Part 3 - Cross-Media Electronic Reporting
- Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
- writing: means any intentional recording of words in a visual form, whether in the form of handwriting, printing, typewriting, or any other tangible form. See 40 CFR 3.3
