Terms Used In CFR > Title 13 > Chapter I > Part 134 > Subpart K - Rules of Practice for Appeals of Denials of Certification and Decertification in the Sba Veteran Small Business Certification Program (Vosb or Sdvosb Appeals)

  • Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Pleadings: Written statements of the parties in a civil case of their positions. In the federal courts, the principal pleadings are the complaint and the answer.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
