The provisions of this part shall not apply to—
(1) vessels which are equipped with a radio installation in accordance with the provisions of part II of this subchapter, or in accordance with the radio requirements of the Safety Convention; and
(2) vessels of the United States belonging to and operated by the Government, and
(3) vessels navigating on the Great Lakes.
Terms Used In 47 USC 382
- safety convention: means the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea in force and the regulations referred to therein. See 47 USC 153
- United States: means the several States and Territories, the District of Columbia, and the possessions of the United States, but does not include the Canal Zone. See 47 USC 153
