Alabama Code 13A-10-33. Escape in the third degree

(a) A person commits the offense of escape in the third degree if he escapes or attempts to escape from custody.

Under the Alabama Code, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Class	Prison	Fine
Class C felony	1 to 10 years	up to $15,000
