Terms Used In Alabama Code 16-65A-3

  • President pro tempore: A constitutionally recognized officer of the Senate who presides over the chamber in the absence of the Vice President. The President Pro Tempore (or, "president for a time") is elected by the Senate and is, by custom, the Senator of the majority party with the longest record of continuous service.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

Annually, on or before the first day of December, the State Treasurer shall file a report regarding the operation of the program, including all loans issued and the status of any repayments, to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House of Representatives, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the minority leaders of the Alabama Senate and House of Representatives, the Chairs of the Senate Committee on Finance and Taxation-Education and the House Ways and Means-Education Committee, the Legislative Fiscal Officer, and the Finance Director.
