Alabama Code 26-23F-8. Construction of chapter

(a) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to affect existing federal or state law regarding abortion.

abortion: as used in this chapter , does not include a procedure or act to terminate the pregnancy of a woman with an ectopic pregnancy, nor does it include the procedure or act to terminate the pregnancy of a woman when the unborn child has a lethal anomaly. See Alabama Code 26-23F-3
state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

(b) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as creating or recognizing a right to abortion.

(c) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to alter generally accepted medical standards.
