Terms Used In Alabama Code 31-2A-137

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • year: means a calendar year; but, whenever the word "year" is used in reference to any appropriations for the payment of money out of the treasury, it shall mean fiscal year. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
(1) The articles of this code shall be carefully explained to each enlisted member at the time, or within one year after, the member joins the Alabama National Guard.
(2) Such articles shall be explained again:

a. After the member has completed basic or recruit training.
b. At the time when the member reenlists.
(b) The text of the code and of the rules prescribed under such code shall be made available to a member of the state military forces, upon request by the member, for the member’s personal examination.
