- Impeachment: (1) The process of calling something into question, as in "impeaching the testimony of a witness." (2) The constitutional process whereby the House of Representatives may "impeach" (accuse of misconduct) high officers of the federal government for trial in the Senate.

The failure of any such official to comply with the requirements of Section state officers” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2020″ statecd=”AL” title=”36″>36-2-4 shall be ground for impeachment or removal of such official from office in the manner provided by law for the impeachment or removal from office of any such official.
