Terms Used In Alabama Code 41-4-325
- Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
- person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
- Public defender: Represent defendants who can't afford an attorney in criminal matters.
- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
Any person holding the position of public defender or appellate defender on June 14, 2011, shall be entitled to serve the remainder of his or her term of office.
