The State Board of Agriculture and Industries shall have authority to:

(1) Provide the standards as to the suitability or adequacy for the purpose for which it is used or intended of any warehouse building, structure, or protected enclosure used for the storage of cotton or other articles of value;

Terms Used In Alabama Code 8-15-2

  • public warehouse: as used in this chapter , shall not be construed as applying to any building, structure, or protected enclosure, or portion thereof, used exclusively for the checking or storing of hats, wearing apparel, or baggage or exclusively for the storing of furs when the storage thereof is merely incidental to the business of a dealer therein or to the business of cleaning or renovating such furs.   • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
(2) Prescribe the character of records; and
(3) Promulgate such other rules and regulations relative to the conduct of the business of a public warehouse and such as are necessary to effect the purposes of this chapter.
