Terms Used In Alabama Code 9-14F-10

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

The bonds of each series thereof issued pursuant to this chapter shall be sold by the authority at public or private sale as provided in the amendment. The bonds shall be executed in the name of the state by the Governor and countersigned by the secretary of the authority issuing the bonds, and the Great Seal of the state shall be impressed thereon and attested by the Secretary of State. An electronic signature or facsimile of the signature of each official may be imprinted on any of the bonds in lieu of manual signatures, and a facsimile of the Great Seal of the state may be printed on the bonds in lieu of such seal being manually impressed thereon. Each facsimile signature shall be valid in all respects as if the officials whose facsimile signatures are used had signed the bonds in person, and any facsimile of the Great Seal of the state used shall be valid in all respects as if such seal had been manually impressed on the bonds. In the event any official who shall sign any of the bonds or whose facsimile signature shall appear thereon shall thereafter cease to hold office before the bonds are delivered and paid for, the bonds shall nevertheless be valid for all purposes to the same extent as if the official who signed the bonds or whose facsimile signature appears thereon had remained in office until all of the bonds bearing the signature or facsimile thereof shall have been delivered and paid for.
