Alaska Statutes 06.26.960 – Application of laws relating to general business corporations

(a) Unless expressly authorized by this chapter, a trust company may not take an action that is authorized by Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.06 regarding its corporate status, capital structure, or a matter of corporate governance and for which Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.06 requires a filing with the department unless the trust company first makes the required filing with the department and receives the department’s approval.

action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
chapter: includes regulations adopted under this chapter. See Alaska Statutes 06.26.990
department: means the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. See Alaska Statutes 06.26.990
trust company: means a person who is organized under this chapter to act as a fiduciary and to provide fiduciary services to the general public. See Alaska Statutes 06.26.990

(b) The department may adopt regulations to alter or supplement the procedures and requirements of Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.06 applicable to an act taken under this chapter by a trust company.
