Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 08.01.104

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

Unless the citation has been voided or otherwise dismissed by the magistrate, judge, or prosecutor, a person who without lawful justification or excuse fails to appear in court to answer a citation issued under Alaska Stat. § 08.01.102, regardless of the disposition of the charge for which the citation was issued, is guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
