In this chapter,

(1) “conservator” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 13.06.050;

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 08.26.190

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(2) “department” means the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development;
(3) “guardian” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 13.06.050;
(4) “licensee” means a person licensed under this chapter;
(5) “private professional conservator” means an individual who acts as a conservator under 13.26.40113.26.580 and receives compensation for acting in that capacity;
(6) “private professional conservator license” means a license issued under Alaska Stat. § 08.26.030;
(7) “private professional guardian” means an individual who acts as a guardian under 13.26.10113.26.316 and receives compensation for acting in that capacity;
(8) “private professional guardian license” means a license issued under Alaska Stat. § 08.26.020;
(9) “protected person” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 13.26.005;
(10) “ward” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 13.26.005.
