The form of a certificate of acknowledgment used by a person whose authority is recognized under Alaska Stat. § 09.63.010 or 09.63.050 shall be accepted in the state if

(1) the certificate is in a form prescribed by the laws or regulations of the state;

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 09.63.080

  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(2) the certificate is in a form prescribed by the laws or regulations applicable in the place in which the acknowledgment is taken; or
(3) the certificate contains the words “acknowledged before me” or their substantial equivalent.
