- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The department may not file the application for registration of a foreign limited liability company unless the name of the company satisfies the requirements of Alaska Stat. § 10.50.020 – 10.50.025. If the name under which a foreign limited liability is organized in the state or other jurisdiction of its organization does not satisfy the requirements of Alaska Stat. § 10.50.020 – 10.50.025, the company may register under Alaska Stat. § 10.50.605 if the company uses an assumed name that is available to the company under this chapter and that satisfies the requirements of Alaska Stat. § 10.50.020 – 10.50.025.
