In this chapter,

(1) “local administration” means administration by a personal representative appointed in this state under appointment proceedings described in Alaska Stat. Chapter 13.16;

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 13.21.005

  • Decedent: A deceased person.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(2) “local personal representative” includes any personal representative appointed in this state under appointment proceedings described in Alaska Stat. Chapter 13.16 and excludes foreign personal representatives who acquire the power of a local personal representative under Alaska Stat. § 13.21.035;
(3) “resident creditor” means a person domiciled in, or doing business in this state, who is, or could be, a claimant against an estate of a nonresident decedent.
