(a) Each witness under Alaska Stat. § 13.56.040 must be an adult who understands the means of communication used by the principal, except, if there is an individual who understands the principal’s means of communication present to assist during the execution of the supported decision-making agreement, the witnesses are not required to understand the means of communication used by the principal.

(b) A witness under Alaska Stat. § 13.56.040 may not be a supporter named in the supported decision-making agreement or an employee or agent of a supporter named in the supported decision-making agreement.
