Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 14.11.126

  • attendance area: means the geographic area designated by the department to be served by a school. See Alaska Statutes 14.60.010
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

During each fiscal year, the state shall allocate to a school district and regional educational attendance area that is approved for a charter school facilities construction, lease, or major maintenance grant under Alaska Stat. § 14.11.121 an amount that is not less than $1 for each pupil enrolled in the charter school.
