Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 14.48.190

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

A person who violates the provisions of Alaska Stat. § 14.48.020 or who fails or refuses to deposit with the commission the records required by Alaska Stat. § 14.48.150 is subject to a civil penalty of not more than $1,000 for each violation. Each day’s failure to comply with the provisions of Alaska Stat. § 14.48.020 and 14.48.150 constitutes a separate violation. The fine may be imposed by the commission in an administrative proceeding or by a court of competent jurisdiction.
