Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 16.05.170
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- peace officer: means
(A) an officer of the state troopers. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060 - Probable cause: A reasonable ground for belief that the offender violated a specific law.
Each peace officer designated in Alaska Stat. § 16.05.150 may execute a warrant or other process issued by an officer or court of competent jurisdiction for the enforcement of this title except Alaska Stat. Chapter 16.51 and Alaska Stat. Chapter 16.52, and may, with a search warrant, search any place at any time. The judge of a court having jurisdiction may, upon proper oath or affirmation showing probable cause, issue a warrant in all cases.
