Notwithstanding any other provision of law, except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the following acts, by persons 21 years of age or older, are lawful and are not criminal or civil offenses under state law or the law of any political subdivision of the state or a basis for seizure or forfeiture of assets under state law:
Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 17.38.020
- Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
- consumption: means the act of ingesting, inhaling, or otherwise introducing marijuana into the human body. See Alaska Statutes 17.38.900
- dwelling: has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. See Alaska Statutes 17.38.900
- marijuana: means all parts of the plant of the genus cannabis whether growing or not, the seeds thereof, the resin extracted from any part of the plant, and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the plant, its seeds, or its resin, including marijuana concentrate. See Alaska Statutes 17.38.900
- person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
