(a) All persons transacting a business of insurance in this state, or relative to a subject resident, located or to be performed in this state, shall comply with the applicable provisions of this title.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 21.03.010

  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) Foreign and alien insurers doing business as authorized insurers under this title are not subject to Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.06 (Alaska Corporations Code).
(c) A person who transacts insurance in this state, or relative to a subject resident, located, or to be performed in this state as or on behalf of a risk retention group or purchasing group formed under and in compliance with 15 U.S.C. § 39013906 (Liability Risk Retention Act), shall comply with the provisions of this title not preempted by federal law.
