- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
If the director determines that an insurer transacting business in this state is impaired or in imminent danger of becoming impaired, the director may order an insurer to limit or change the insurer’s business practices, increase the insurer’s capital and surplus, or file additional reports with the director. If an insurer is aggrieved by an order under this section, the insurer may request a hearing under Alaska Stat. § 21.06.170 – 21.06.230.
