Except as otherwise prohibited by law, duties imposed upon an insurer by this chapter may be carried out by a creditor if the creditor is licensed under Alaska Stat. Chapter 21.27 as an insurance producer, a managing general agent, or a third-party administrator, and transacts business within the scope of its license on behalf of the insurer.
