Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 23.20.140

  • action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • fund: means the unemployment compensation fund established by this chapter. See Alaska Statutes 23.20.520
  • state: includes the states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. See Alaska Statutes 23.20.520

When, in accordance with 42 U.S.C. § 13211324 (Title XII, Social Security Act), as amended, the balance in the unemployment trust fund reaches a point where the governor must apply for an advance in order to obtain for the state and its citizens the advantages available under 42 U.S.C. § 13211324, the department shall notify the governor and take other action which is appropriate to obtain an advance to the unemployment trust fund and arrange for its repayment in accordance with 42 U.S.C. § 13211324.
